Hey, I'm Shannon.
I grew up in the Midwest and when I went to college I discovered how people and the planet are connected through things like the farmers market, farm to table, the local Co-op, and the small family owned restaurants that made me see food and community completely differently. After a career in health care, and a personal health scare, I began to dive deeper into the connection between the health of the individual and the health of the planet, and the ability of both to regenerate.
In 2025, I came across Corsair Group International and what I liked about it was how easy it is for everyone to participate - as an active partner or a customer.
Three simple steps: we contribute to the company, the company cleans and recycles plastic, and then we get rewarded later. What I also love is that it is a win win win win win.
It is a win for the planet because we are cleaning up plastic pollution. It is a win for Corsair Group because they are a business, not a charity, and through our contributions they are able to build more facilities and clean up more plastic. It is a win for their clients and partners, businesses that are eco-conscious or are beginning to adhere to new EPA regulations and want to go plastic neutral. It is a win for the communities surrounding Corsair's facilities because these are often poor communities living near landfills, and Corsair has several community projects that reflect that commitment (listed below with videos). And it is a win for Corsair Connect, the networking and marketing arm of Corsair Group International, where ambassadors like me spread the mission to connect with the planet, clean the pollution, and make it better for future generations while earning an income from sharing our passion.
One of my favorite things about Corsair is that it is a people's project. They value connection to the community: the communities surrounding their facilities, the people who work for them, and the Corsair Connect network, which provides mentorship, training, and leadership skills that are not just skills for Corsair Connect but life skills, career skills, founder skills, entrepreneur skills, CEO skills.
I joined this mission because I care about the planet. I recycle, I compost, I garden, I support eco-conscious businesses with my dollars, and I knew I wanted to do more. So I joined, contributed, and now I am actively cleaning the planet and helping this company become a global success, leaving a legacy of care and hope for future generations.
